The Division of the Nations

    A song of Moses.

L isten, heavens, and I will speak; hear, earth, the words of my mouth. My teaching will drop like the rain, my speech will flow like the dew, like raindrops upon the tender plants, and like showers upon the grass.

The Council of the Gods
"Ye are gods..."
I will call out the name of Yahweh: acknowledge the greatness of our god.

When the High One allotted to the nations their inheritance, when he divided the sons of man, he set the boundaries of the nations according to the number of the sons of God.

Yahweh’s share is his nation, Israel: Jacob is his portion of the inheritance.

Deuteronomy 32

The Judgment of the Gods

    A psalm of Asaph.

G od presides in the assembly of the gods; he judges among the gods:

“How long will you rule unjustly, and favor the wicked?

“Defend the weak and fatherless; do justice to the poor and needy. Deliver them from the hands of the wicked.

“I have said, ‘You are gods, and all of you are children of the High One. But you will die like men, and fall like princes.’ ”

Rise up, God, and judge the earth: you will inherit all the nations.

Psalm 82
